Garda Island: An Enchanting Gem for the Whole Family
You don't need to go far to admire places that look like something out of a storybook.
Lake Garda is full of islands, natural parks, Caribbean beaches, castles and ancient villas that deserve to be on your list of places to visit this year! Garda Island is definitely one of them.
April is the perfect month for a family tour of this wonderful little island on the lake. On April 1, the Cavazza family that lives there opens the island to guided tours of the
Venetian neo-Gothic-style villa built in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The villa is surrounded by a
beautiful park that encloses an Italian garden, an English garden, and a forest kept deliberately wild.
A Group Boat Tour with Visit and Tasting
The Garda Island tour with sightseeing and tasting will depart from the port of Sirmione (Tuesday and Thursday) Lazise, Bardolino (Sunday), Gargnano (Wednesday) and Desenzano (Wednesday and Sunday). The tour includes a
two-hour stop on the island to give you a chance to visit part of the historic villa and the beautiful surrounding park.
For the lucky ones, the countess herself will accompany the tour, telling the compelling story of the Island and the families who, over the centuries, have taken care of it. Today that care is recognizable
in the villa's perfect profile and the lushness of the gardens, which are home to such a variety of plant species as to be considered on par with a botanical garden.
After the guided tour, you will enjoy welcome drinks on the Villa's beautiful panoramic terrace. At the end of the island stop, we will set sail again to Bardolino, Lazise, Gargnano and Desenzano, where we will dock at the port with a goodbye until the next boat tour!
