Crystal clear waters, white sand and enchanting views: the
southern part of Lake Garda is a real discovery for those looking for Caribbean
beaches, relaxation and diving far from the crowds. Which are the best? Let's find out together!
Discover the Caribbean beaches of South Garda
We have to admit that it was difficult to make this ranking, because the south coast of Lake Garda is dotted with really beautiful beaches and bays! We have chosen those that we think are not to be missed:
1. Jamaica Beach
The name says it all about this
pristine white beach, reminiscent of the beaches of Jamaica. In fact, it is more than a beach, it is an area of wide
slabs of smooth white rock, lapped by the waters of the lake, ideal for sunbathing.
As you can imagine, this beach is often overrun with visitors. Reaching it
by boat allows you to enjoy the view and swim without having to worry about the crowds. It is not possible to moor directly as there is no jetty, but you can swim off the coast and... enjoy it!
2. Punta San Vigilio Park
Punta San Vigilio Park is located
near Garda and Punta San Vigilio, on the eastern shore of the lake. The beach is surrounded by a
natural park with olive trees, cypresses and green areas ideal for picnics. The harmony of colours between the deep green of the trees, the emerald green of the water and the white of the
pebble beach is truly extraordinary.
There is a charge to use the beach and it can get quite crowded in the summer months. What better way to avoid this problem than to
reach it by private boat?
3. San Biagio Island
San Biagio Island, also known as "Rabbit Island" due to the presence of
free-roaming rabbits in the park, is located near
Manerba del Garda.
It is a small lake paradise, characterised by
meadows, cypresses and flowering bushes. Weather permitting, it can also be reached on foot along the strip of land that connects it to the mainland.
The beach consists of
white rocks. The island is also popular with
scuba diving enthusiasts, especially for the Scoglio dell'Altare, a 150 metre wall covered with yellow sponges, where there is also a cave inhabited by royal perch, pike, tench, eel and bleak.
4. Baia del Vento
Situated in the municipality of
San Felice del Benaco, Baia del Vento is an enchanting beach that offers a privileged panoramic view of Lake Garda, with views of the Brescian coast, Monte Baldo and the Garda Island.
The
beach is mainly pebbled, with some
sandy areas both on the shore and in the water. It is equipped with
sunbeds, umbrellas, pedal boats and canoes for hire. Nearby there is a
restaurant serving delicious fresh fish dishes, local specialities and pizzas to suit all tastes. There is also a
beach bar kiosk serving quick snacks and aperitifs.
Reaching Baia del Vento by private boat allows you to fully enjoy its beauty and tranquillity while avoiding the summer crowds.
5. Riviera Beach Club
The Riviera Beach Club in
Punta San Vigilio is one of the most
exclusive beaches on Lake Garda. Surrounded by centuries-old olive trees and overlooking the crystal clear waters, it offers a refined and relaxing environment.
The beach has
500 sun loungers with beach towels, shaded by large parasols, and
6 cabanas for those who want more privacy and comfort.
The
Beach Bar welcomes guests from the morning with fragrant croissants, while the
Garden Bar, surrounded by olive trees, offers delicious sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and other tasty dishes. Arriving at Riviera Beach Club
by private boat is an exclusive experience, landing directly in this corner of paradise.
